Unruly Republicans Disrupt Health Care Debate: Shout "I Object!" at Congresswomen

advertisement

Here's a video of the Republicans at their "best".

It is from earlier in the day during the Congressional debate over Health Care reform. The Democrats had lined up all of their Congresswomen to each say ONE sentence linking a health care issue of concern to women to their support of the Health Care bill. The Chair was the venerable Congressman John Dingell who was around for the original Medicare Debate.

Someone in the Republican Congressional "brain trust" thought it would be a good tactic to interrupt each of the Congresswomen by shouting "I object" or some other inanity while the Congresswoman was trying to briefly say something like: "domestic abuse should no longer be considered a pre-existing condition."

Amazingly, the women and Dingle kept their cool although I did catch a few dirty looks.

I was shocked when I watched this live on C-SPAN and now I'm glad to share it with you via YouTube so that everyone can see what a bunch of women-hating Republicans we have in Congress. I hope that their Mamas and constituents give them hell!

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.
